লটারির নেশায় সর্বস্বান্ত হচ্ছে গ্রাম-বাংলার মানুষ
জয়দীপ মৈত্র, দক্ষিণ দিনাজপুর: ভারত-বাংলাদেশ সীমান্ত লাগোয়া দক্ষিণ দিনাজপুর জেলা। জেলার সদর শহর বালুরঘাট, ব্লক ও পৌর এলাকার হিলি, কুমারগঞ্জ, গঙ্গারামপুর, তপন কুশমন্ডি, হরিরামপুর, বুনিয়াদপুর থেকে শুরু করে বহু গ্রামের মানুষ শহর জুড়ে থাকা রাস্তার ধারের অবস্থিত টেবিল নিয়ে বসে থাকা অথবা বিভিন্ন লটারির দোকানে দিন-রাত ভিড় জমান। এই দিন দক্ষিণ দিনাজপুর জেলার গঙ্গারামপুরে খেলার টিকিটের নম্বর মিলাচ্ছিল গঙ্গারামপুর পৌরসভার ১১ নম্বর ওয়ার্ডের এক যুবক সমীর দত্ত। এইভাবে শহর অথবা গ্রামের ছোট থেকে বড় সকলে এমনকি মহিলারাও টিকিট কাটছে প্রতিনিয়ত। তারা সকলেই ২০০ টাকা, ৩০০ টাকা ও ৫০০ টাকা এমনকি ১২০০ টাকার টিকিট কাটছে রাতারাতি কোটিপতি হয়ে যাওয়ার জন্য। আর এই লটারি কেনার নেশায় তারা বিভিন্ন চায়ের দোকানে জমিয়ে আড্ডা দিচ্ছে দিনে তিনবার করে।
প্রসঙ্গত, বাড়িতে সংসার চালানোর জন্য প্রতিনিয়ত স্ত্রীর সাথে অশান্তি,গন্ডগোল হচ্ছে তারপরেও লটারির টিকিট কাটা নেশায় ডুবে রয়েছে জেলার বিভিন্ন প্রান্তের মানুষ। দক্ষিণ দিনাজপুর জেলার ৮ টি থানার বিভিন্ন জায়গা, হাসপাতাল থেকে শুরু করে বাজার চায়ের দোকানে লটারির টেবিল নিয়ে বসছে লটারি বাবাসায়ীরা। আর এই লটারি কাটার নেশায় কোটিপতি হওয়ার স্বপ্নে সর্বস্বান্ত হচ্ছে জেলার গ্রাম ও শহরের মানুষ। এই বিষয়ে গঙ্গারামপুরের স্থানীয় এক ভ্যান চালক মিলন মন্ডল জানান, “দিন-রাত খেটে মাথার ঘাম পায়ে ফেলে কষ্ট করে টাকা পরিশ্রম করি তবুও টিকিটের নেশাই সর্বস্বান্ত হয়ে যাচ্ছি ক্রমশ। দিনে তিনবার খেলা হয় আর এই তিনবার টিকিট কাটতে গেলে অন্তত তিন থেকে ৪০০-৫০০ টাকা পর্যন্ত জোগাড় করতে হচ্ছে, যা নিয়ে বাড়িতে চলছে অশান্তি তবুও কোটিপতি হওয়ার স্বপ্নে বিভোর তাই সেই নেশা ছাড়তে পারছি না”। দক্ষিণ দিনাজপুর জেলার সদর শহর বালুরঘাটের মঙ্গলপুরের এক বাসিন্দা পেশায় টোটো চালক নিরঞ্জন দাস বলেন, “টিকিট কাটছি রোজ নিয়ম করে ৫০০ থেকে ৬০০ টাকার। এই নেশার জালে পরে লটারির পিছনে প্রচুর টাকা ব্যয় করেছি, কিন্তু বড় ধরনের কোনও পুরস্কার আজও আমার কপালে জোটেনি”। জানা গিয়েছে, দক্ষিণ দিনাজপুর জেলার বিভিন্ন প্রান্তে থেকে কোটি টাকার ওপরে টিকিট বিক্রয় হয় কখনও কখনও মোটা পুরস্কারও জেলাতে পেয়েছে অনেকেই। জেলার এক লটারির টিকিট বিক্রেতা জানান,” আমি দৈনন্দিন প্রায়ই ৩০ হাজার টাকার টিকিট বিক্রি করি, আগে একটি চায়ের দোকান ছিল এখন টিকিটের দোকান করেছি বিভিন্ন গ্রাম থেকে প্রচুর মানুষ টিকিট নিতে আমার কাছেও আসে এই লটারির নেশাই গ্রামের বহু মানুষ সর্বস্বান্ত হয়ে যাচ্ছে তবুও টিকিট কাটতে ভুলছে না তারা”। এই লটারি টিকিট কাটার নেশায় বুদ হয়ে রয়েছে দক্ষিণ দিনাজপুর জেলার বিভিন্ন প্রান্তের মানুষ, প্রচুর টাকা ব্যয় করে লটারি টিকিট কাটছেন কোটিপতি হওয়ার স্বপ্ন কিন্তু সেই অলীক স্বপ্ন বাস্তবায়িত না হওয়ার কারণে কার্যত নেশার ঘোরে সর্বসান্ত হচ্ছেন জেলার একাংশ।
